Things to do with Kids Inside

Picture from Handmade Charlotte

Here in England we all know winter can be pretty grim at times. Clouds and drizzle not ideal especially when you have kids. So what do you do with them when the weather isn't working in your favour. Here's some ideas for you to consider!

1. Bake healthy muffins

2. Play with the train set

3. Play hide and seek

4. Painting

5. play catch the balloon, basically just throwing a balloon around. Edith loves this.

6. Dancing, we like to put on music and dance around the house

7. Build a pillow and blanket fort

8. Put together a puzzle

9. Play with legos or duplo

10. Make finger puppets and put on a puppet show

11. Make a cloud mobile out of paper, string and sticks. The kids can hang it above their bed!

12. Make superheros costumes out of random things around the house and make a movie!

13. Make a thinking of you card for a friend or a family member.

14. Paint a surface in the house with blackboard paint and let the kids draw with chalk.

15. Have a picnic inside

16. Make a height card

17. Jump on the bed! With supervision of course!

18. Pull out your little ones favourite book and act it out for them

19. Play dress up!

20. watch a classic disney movie when we are all tired out

Starting the New Year Off Right

I know it's so cliche to join a gym or start eating healthy again at the beginning of January. But what if you didn't stop being healthy? It's important as parents to teach our kids good habits, like brushing your teeth a couple three times a day or getting plenty of exercise, but for me one of the most important is sugar! Yes I love sugar, especially chocolate!

Behind the Scenes

Designing a successful collection take a lot of time and hard work. Many of us don't think about the behind the scenes when we buy a piece of clothing. Here at Sense Organics thought goes into every single part of the process from Nikola designing the collection, to Kirsten overseeing the production in India, to the technical side Marion works on, to the photo shoots of the clothing, which I can to help out with this season, to Andrea and myself working on the blog. There are many special people involved to make the brand what it is.

Happy New Year! What are Your Goals?

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!!! Wow, I can't believe it's 2015! But let me tell you, I am so excited about this year! I think it's going to be full of many accomplishments. I know it's so cliche to make New Year's Resolutions, but I have set some goals for myself. I have decided to quick eating sugar, run the Hackney Half-Marathon in May and to really think about what I buy before I buy it.

I decided to quite eating sugar purely for wanting to have more energy and a clear complexion. I enjoy running, I run a few times a week, but I needed a goal or something to work towards, so I thought why not go for a half-marathon, but there will be no marathons in the future:) that's a bit too much for me. And as far as money, I just want to buy quality over quantity. What's the point of having all these things when in all reality they never get used or worn.

2015 for me is about a balanced lifestyle and finding out what I can actually handle. I think if everyone could strive for a balanced lifestyle then there wouldn't be so much stress in the world and unhappy people. Here at Sense Organics we want our children to have balanced healthy lives and it starts with us parents. So this year, give yourself a break and your kids and enjoy what's important in life! Here's to a great 2015!
