About Zameen Organic - A Company Profile Zameen is a pioneering marketing company for Fair Trade, Organic and Pesticide Free cotton in India. Zameen’s philosophy centres around improving the livelihoods of rural farming communities by ensuring that farmers receive better prices for their products through Fair-Trade and Organic certification and targeted marketing. The grassroots idea for the company stems from Dutch Agriculturist Gijs Spoor (Zameen’s current CEO) and E.M. Koshy (chairman of the Agriculture and Organic Farming Group, AOFG). Based on their experience working in rural development in India, Koshy and Spoor felt the need to create an established company that could deliver market services to the farmers’ doorsteps. The two partnered with Satish Chukkupalli, Managing Director of Textilestation, and formed Zameen.
